SOLEOS has advised MARPOSS S.p.A. (Bologna), a global supplier of precision metrology solutions, on the acquisition of the Process Measuring Technology Business for grinding machines, formerly known as MOVOMATIC, from Jenoptik (Jena).
MARPOSS has a long tradition in several fields of measurement and control for industrial production and aims to expand its presence in a variety of markets to provide a broader level of products and services to its customers.
The acquired Process Measuring Technology Business for grinding machines will continue to operate under the re-established MOVOMATIC brand, which has always set the benchmark for in-process measurement on grinding machines, at the previous locations in Germany and Switzerland with the previous management and personnel. Possible synergies between the two product lines, such as the possibility of combining the MOVOMATIC measuring solution with MARPOSS grinding wheel balancers or other MARPOSS sensors onto the grinding machine, will be evaluated for possible product integration.
