SOLEOS has advised a leading global supplier of fuel cell electric vehicles on an investment in a hydrogen refuelling station operator.
The aim of this investment, amounting to a double-digit million sum, is to establish a comprehensive hydrogen ecosystem, including the hydrogen refuelling infrastructure.
To facilitate the investment, the world’s leading supplier of fuel cell electric vehicles has granted the hydrogen refuelling station operator a convertible loan. The convertible loan gives SOLEOS’s client the option to convert the loan into an equity stake in the hydrogen refuelling station operator.
A fuel cell electric vehicle is an electric car that generates its own electricity on board through the electrochemical reaction of hydrogen and oxygen in a fuel cell. The only emissions produced are water vapour and heat. Refuelling at a hydrogen refuelling station takes only around three to five minutes. Ranges of 500 to over 700 kilometres are standard.
